The Graduate Management Admission Test (GMAT) is a standardized test widely utilized for admission into graduate business programs globally. Specifically designed to assess the skills essential for success in business and management studies, the GMAT comprises various elements that evaluate a candidate’s quantitative reasoning, verbal reasoning, integrated reasoning, and analytical writing abilities.

Analytical Writing Assessment (AWA): GMAT includes an Analytical Writing Assessment section, evaluating the candidate’s ability to analyze an argument and communicate ideas effectively in writing. This section comprises one essay task.

Integrated Reasoning (IR): The Integrated Reasoning section assesses the ability to interpret and analyze complex data presented in various formats, including tables, charts, and graphs. It measures the candidate’s capability to integrate information from multiple sources.

Quantitative Reasoning: GMAT’s Quantitative Reasoning section evaluates mathematical skills, problem-solving abilities, and data interpretation. Questions cover topics such as arithmetic, algebra, geometry, and data sufficiency.

Verbal Reasoning: The Verbal Reasoning section assesses reading comprehension, critical reasoning, and sentence correction skills. It measures the candidate’s ability to understand and evaluate written material and express ideas clearly.

Computer-Adaptive Format: GMAT is administered in a computer-adaptive format, adjusting question difficulty based on the candidate’s performance. This format tailors the test to the individual’s skill level, providing a more accurate evaluation.

Multiple-Choice Questions: GMAT primarily consists of multiple-choice questions, where candidates select the correct answer from a list of options. The types of questions vary across sections, including problem-solving, data sufficiency, and sentence correction.
